A vehicle was destroyed by a fire at the Devil’s Creek River Access in Lee County Wednesday afternoon.
WGEM reports that there were no injuries in the blaze. Montrose fire crews responded to the fire, which they say had flames nearly 8 feet high. The flames were extinguished in around 15 minutes.
The owner of the vehicle said he drove to the access to eat his lunch, and when he returned smoke was coming from under the hood, he was picked up by family after the blaze.
Authorities warn to keep an eye on vehicles during the hot summer months.
