A Burlington woman is facing drug charges following a traffic stop near the Lincolnville Motel.
Authorities say 29-year-old Courtney Adams has been charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana, a drug tax stamp violation, an open container violation, and providing false ID to law enforcement.
According to court documents, officers stopped a vehicle Adams was riding in for an equipment malfunction, and police brought in K9 Unit Asta to sniff the car. After a positive alert from the dog, police searched the vehicle and found opened liquor in Adams purse, she was initially arrested on the open container violation. Police say she admitted to having drugs in her bra while being taken to the jail for processing.
Authorities say she had 8.5 grams of methamphetamine, a bag of marijuana, a meth pipe, and a syringe in a small bag hidden in her bra.
She’s being held on $100K bond at the Des Moines County jail.
