Hancock County, Il- Hancock County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of a correctional employee.
At the request of Sheriff Bentzinger, Illinois State Police conducted an investigation into allegations of custodial sexual misconduct between 35-year-old Cory Hamelton of Carthage and a female inmate.
Hamelton was arrested on Friday by Illinois State Police. A bail hearing was conducted on Sunday where his bail was set at $100 thousand.
Hamelton is scheduled to appear in court on October 24th, he is being held at McDonough County Jail.
