Roger has made several careers out of holding people accountable as a trial attorney, political leader, and for the past 22 years, as the number one radio host in Southern California. Roger's straight talk and dynamic personality inspire his listeners to turn talk into action.

When the Republicans took control of the House in the '94 election, Roger and 200 listeners, who paid their own way, set up the first talk show broadcast from the Capitol Building in Washington, DC to lobby to make the Contract With America a reality and not just a platform. The event became known as "Hold Their Feet to the Fire" (HTFTTF) and Roger has led listener trips back to DC 11 more times since, lobbying for a balanced budget, welfare reform, and border control.

In April, 2007, Roger organized the latest HTFTTF to include 37 other talk show hosts and over 500 listeners who paid their own way to lobby for border enforcement, against amnesty, and for pardons for jailed border patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. This trip was the catalyst for a nationwide movement against the Kennedy-Bush Immigration Amnesty bill, which was defeated in June, 2007 in the US Senate.

Roger's commitment on the immigration issue dates back to 1989 when Roger listener and border patrol widow Muriel Watson organized a series of demonstrations at the San Diego - Tijuana border, which came to be known as "Light up the Border".

Roger and a handful of other talk show hosts in California were instrumental in their listeners gathering over a million signatures to force newly reelected Governor Gray Davis into a recall election which he lost to Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Political activism is not the only concern among Roger's listeners. He has also devoted many shows to projects that benefit the community.

Shortly after 9-11, the skipper of the Carrier USS Constellation invited Roger to address the ship's company as they prepared to ship out for war. Roger promised these young sailors and marines that he and his audience would care for their families while they were away fighting to protect our country. This all-volunteer effort, based on the generosity of the listening audience and a partnership with the Navy League became known as Homefront San Diego. In 2006 alone, over 7500 enlisted military families were assisted with furniture, car repair, baby supplies, computers, etc. worth over $500,000.

Every year for the last 17 years, Roger has hosted a "Radiothon" fundraiser for the St. Vincent de Paul Village and Toussaint Teen Center, raising over five million dollars for the homeless and for troubled teens. In 2002, the St. Vincent de Paul Villages awarded Roger and his wife, Cindy, their highest honor, the Pierre Toussaint award.

In 2002 and 2003, Roger partnered with Dr. Laura Schlessinger, raising almost $500,000 each year from his listening audience for Dr. Laura's "My Stuff Bags" for abandoned children.
