A man was arrested following an incident at a Canton truck stop for domestic assault, with authorities also discovering drugs in his vehicle. Witnesses reported seeing a man assaulting a woman inside a vehicle at the Ayerco Truck Stop in Canton, Missouri. The vehicle left the scene, but responding officers from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol located the suspect and victim together in downtown Canton.
Following an investigation, Tayler D. Burgess was arrested on domestic assault charges for physically attacking the victim. Officers also found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Lewis County Prosecutor Chelsea Fellinger filed formal charges, and Associate Judge Corey Moon issued a warrant encompassing these allegations.
